The score is calculated using an algorithm that considers:

• Recent plays: the more a song is streamed, the higher the score.

• Listener engagement: replays, favorites, skips, and other interactions.

• Recency of streams: recent plays have more weight than older ones.

• Local vs. global popularity: regional trends can also influence the score.

 

A high score allows:

• Be included in Spotify playlists more easily.

• Appear in Discover Weekly recommendations.

• Rank higher in search results.
